We are happy to announce that we are a new sponsor to Holly, the UK’s 2021 1500m indoor British champion and 1500m indoor European silver medalist. ⠀
Previously Holly ran in the NCAA college system for SMU (Southern Methodist University), Dallas Texas. Here she was multiple conference champion and ‘All American’ in her event (1500m).
Holly trains over 70 miles per week both on and off the track. A lot of the time the track and tempo running is high intensity – the training largely focuses on hitting specific running times and running paces. To optimize performance, Holly felt that she needed to focus more on her diet and nutrition to help ensure her gut and metabolism are working effectively to get the most out of training.
After tracking her diet for several weeks (but not using our FODMAP Kit) Holly has found that lactose and inulin appeared to show the most peaks with fermentation and hydrogen levels. Interestingly Holly’s high fermentation scores caused symptoms such as bloating and swelling in the evenings, therefore she has decided that morning training sessions might suit her digestive system better.
Holly’s next step is to try our 6-Week Discover Plan and FODMAP testing kit. Holly will be able to discover what foods are causing her symptoms so she can design workouts and goals around her schedule instead of letting her symptoms dictate it for her.
If like Holly you are an athlete that is looking to optimize your diet and take control of digestive issues check out the FoodMarble AIRE and FODMAP Testing Kit, this digestive duo will help you find the foods that are truly right for your body.
