  • Pinpointing problematic foods in IBS

After being diagnosed with IBS with no real direction, and ineffective trial-and-error dieting, Maria found FoodMarble. With one breath test she was able to pinpoint what foods were causing her symptoms and how to substitute them in her diet.

After years of unexplained digestive trouble and an IBS diagnosis that offered no real direction, Maria found trial-and-error elimination exhausting and ineffective. A single breath test with FoodMarble uncovered the exact trigger, sorbitol, that years of guesswork had missed.

Background

For years, digestive trouble persisted with no clear cause. Doctor after doctor came back with the same diagnosis, IBS, but no real direction on what to do about it. Cutting out foods, trying medication, even natural remedies, nothing made a difference. It was the same frustrating cycle: try something, wait, see no real change, try something else.

“I cut out stuff from my diet and tried medication and even natural remedies, nothing seemed to be alleviating it.”

Finding FoodMarble

Looking for a different approach, Maria bought the FoodMarble AIRE 2 device along with the food intolerance test kit, admittedly a little sceptical at first. The process itself was simple: take baseline readings, run the tests, and record everything in the app.

“I was a little sceptical at first. I took my baseline readings and did the tests, which were very simple to do and record in the app.”

That’s where things got interesting.

What She Found

The results showed something unexpected: sorbitol levels reading at 9.9, far higher than normal. Sorbitol wasn’t even on the radar before this, most people associate intolerances with lactose or glucose, not sorbitol.

“So it detected that my readings for sorbitol were very high, 9.9! I had never heard of sorbitol before… when people think of intolerances they think mainly of lactose, glucose etc.”

Rather than guessing which foods might be to blame, the app provided a clear list of high-sorbitol foods to avoid, replacing random elimination with a structured plan built on actual data.

“The app even has the list of all the food that’s bad for me, so I’m more structured rather than cutting out things at random.”

Where Things Stand Now

Within one to two weeks of cutting out high-sorbitol foods, the change was significant. Cramps and bloating dropped noticeably, and energy levels improved, an effect that came as a genuine surprise.

“I then cut them out and within 1-2 weeks it made a huge difference, my cramps and bloating were reduced and I even had more energy, which was surprising for me.”

“I’m thankful for taking up this journey with FoodMarble and I highly recommend their product if you’re like me struggling to find an answer to your digestive problems.”

Where an elimination diet asks you to remove things and hope for the best, breath testing pointed to exactly what was causing the problem, sorbitol, so only that needed to change.
