The food intolerance testing kit and 6-Week Discovery Plan is a FODMAP testing and breath testing program designed to help you find the foods that work with your unique digestive system.
In 6 weeks you will test your tolerance to 4 hard-to-digest food components; Lactose, Fructose, Sorbitol, and Inulin. The plan is broken down into three stages, Baseline, Reset, and Discovery. Each stage is important and is part of the journey to healing your gut. After six weeks, you will have concrete data on what foods suit your digestion, so you can shop, cook, and eat foods with confidence.
The 6-Week Discovery Plan is broken down into three stages, let’s go through them…
The Baseline Stage is about routine and takes a week. During Baseline you set the foundation, you establish your normal breath scores, FODMAP intake, symptoms, stress, and sleep levels. This stage is very important as this baseline stage acts as a comparison once you start testing.
Reset is about preparation before you test your tolerance levels to one of the four FODMAPS, or as we like to call it a ‘challenge’. A challenge measures your gas production response to a particular carbohydrate or food (by using your AIRE device). By measuring the amount of hydrogen you breathe out we can work out how well that carbohydrate was absorbed. To ensure that we are only measuring your response to that particular carbohydrate you should avoid foods that are highly fermentable and slowly digested the day before your challenge.
The Discovery Stage is about testing FODMAPs – Lactose, Fructose, Sorbitol, and Inulin. We recommend that you test one FODMAP per week, so one challenge per week. These testing days are called Discovery Days and the app will guide you with the preparation and through the actual test.
As part of the food intolerance kit and the 6-week plan, we have also included some exclusive new app features to help you get the most out of the plan…
As you complete your Discovery Days and breath tests your digestive profile will begin to fill out. It shows you your tolerance for each of the main four FODMAPs you test during the Discovery Stage. This data is unique to you and your unique digestion. You can use this handy little chart when you’re eating out or shopping to help keep your food choices on track.
Lots of tasty recipes for you to try during your 6-week plan and beyond. Recipes are categorized by FODMAP, making it easy to find the right recipe for you. You also have a full breakdown of FODMAP content per recipe, so once you start to find your triggers you can pick recipes that suit your gut. We’ll be adding new recipes each week, so if you are a 6WDP user…it’s time to get cooking!
We recommend that you log all meals, symptoms, sleep, and stress throughout the week. Because these are as important as your breath test readings to find out what your digestive triggers are. Once you log all this information, the new weekly report will give you a clear snapshot of how your week looked like. It shows you all the factors that could affect your digestion and the symptoms you experienced during the week. Using this data you can identify good gut days so you can have more of them.
So, there you have it, our FODMAP Testing Kit. It has more support, more features, and more inbuilt communication to help keep you on track. If you were looking for an answer to your digestive problems, this is it.
