This device has helped me so much with figuring out what actually triggers my symptoms and what doesn’t.

I’ve had IBS-related symptoms for many years now. After extensive physical exams and tests in the past few years, doctors eliminated other conditions – this is how IBS is currently diagnosed. After that, there is not much they can do for you. So you’re left on your own to figure out what triggers your symptoms.

The main symptoms for me are stomach pain and bloating. In the process of testing for different conditions, I also did allergy and intolerances blood tests. This sort of gave me a guideline of the foods I need to avoid or eliminate completely. This list included basic cooking ingredients like wheat, rice, barley, soy, corn, coconut, onion, garlic, nuts, casein (eggs, milk), yeast, tomato, celery, cabbage, avocado, mango, kiwi, banana, melon, apple, pear and many, many more!

So when I started my elimination diet (removing all the possible triggers from the list) I started to get frustrated as it was impossible to eat anything except what I’ve prepared myself. So this did not work out for me for too long.

Then I discovered FoodMarble. This device has helped me so much with figuring out what actually triggers my symptoms and what doesn’t. Using the device I’ve found my main triggers (cabbage, mango, pear). I use it now on a daily basis – at least once a day. When I get symptoms, I used it throughout the day and log my symptoms. I think it will take me a while to figure out the limits of the problematic food groups I can easily digest.

I also did a Sorbitol FODMAP challenge – which confirmed 2 things:

1. I am highly intolerant to sorbitol (I scored 10 for about 2 hours) – this explains my difficulty with pears which are very high in sorbitol
2. My digestive system is a bit slower than average (I reached a score of 10 only after 4 hours of drinking the sorbitol sachet)

I am planning to do all the other FODMAP challenges (lactose, inulin & fructose) in the next few months.

I am very impressed by the portability of the device, so I can use it anytime and anywhere. I am looking forward to the new features and improvements that will come with your understanding of the users and our needs. Keep up the great work!

In just 6 weeks you will be able to test your tolerance to 4 hard-to-digest food components; lactose, fructose, sorbitol, and inulin. The FODMAP Kit and our AIRE device are the digestive busting duo that are changing the face of IBS. Why not start finding your foods today.
